I would not have moved if I knew you were here

© Boots, Berlin 2011 by Fritsch

Well, I would not have moved if I knew you were here / It’s some special action with motives unclear / Now you’ll haunt me ‚til I’ve paid for what I’ve done / It’s a payment which precludes the having of fun / And you are always on my mind (Bonnie „Prince“ Billy)

    Ehe Du Schuhe kaufst
    Gedicht von Joachim Ringelnatz

    Dein Schuh wird Dich hassen
    wenn Du ihn nicht liebst,
    keiner kann sich Dir anpassen,
    dem Du keine Achtung gibst.

Was Du trägst, soll auch Dich tragen.
    Bedenke, bevor Du wählst –
    sei es einen Schuh –
    dass Du sozusagen
    Dich mit ihm vermählst.

Achte, dass ihm weder Sohle noch Seele,
    nicht Qualität noch Charakter fehle.

    Jeder Schuh hat ein Gesicht.
    Jeder Schuh spricht.
Adel, Güte, Schönheit – alle Gaben
    kann ein Schuh haben.

    Kann ein Kinderschuh an sich
    schon so rührend sein –
    auch Leder lenkt das Leben.

    Aber Du musst wissen,
mit wem Du Dich willst umgeben.

The shoes, the boots that have walked over snowy pathes, wet streets, night roads leading to the unknown.
    One more great step, Florian!

„Now you’ll haunt me ’til I’ve paid for what I’ve done.“

I’ve heard those words in my head in the middle of the night. It’s the „payment“ that makes we want to put on the boots and walk–but it doesn’t matter where I go or what I do–she’s always on my mind.

Fritsch, this is too real, my friend. Nice weaving of the photo and lyrics into this bit of tapestry.

  8. Subtle, like the song. Strong, like the song. When you can walk, you always have some place to go.

Ooooh.

  14. Wonderful black and white and textures. I guess this pair of shoes is the closest I have ever seen of human presence in your photographs.

    Keep up the good work

Perfect composition for this pair of used boots! A rock n‘ roll picture! We should walk miles and miles away with these shoes, while singing old rock songs. Born to be wild!!
    Have a nice day!

For some reason the song „We’re in the Army now“ comes to mind with this photo.
