songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

but now I figure it’s just not quite there

© Light switch, Berlin 2010 by Fritsch

We embraced / We couldn’t see / The future dangling in front of us / The past now, too far to see / But we didn’t look and we didn’t care / There was something left between us then / But now I figure it’s just not quite there (Micah P. Hinson)

I’m really touched. So sad, so full of melancholy…

There is always something of the intimate in your pictures, even when you shoot outside scenes. But here that’s quite obvious for those who wouldn’t have noticed. Your black and white, i.e. your light is just perfect, offering us some details on the wall, a wall that looks like a skin (thinking of Alain Resnais‘ „Hiroshima mon amour“ photography of the skins).

  10. This one just screams the last light just before it goes out in a smokey jazz club. Perhaps just beneath the sidewalk, where the music screams into the streets…but now it’s time to say goodnight.
    Brilliant shot!

Wonderful Fritsch! You know a moody shot when you see one.

I have no words to discribe how deeply I’m touched by this photograph. So intimate and yet so universal.
Minimalism is not the right word for work that is so damn great.
    Keep it up
