in a booth in the corner with the lights down low

In a booth in the corner with the lights down low / I was movin‘ in fast, she was takin‘ it slow / Well, I looked at him and caught him lookin‘ at me / I knew right then we were playin‘ free in Oregon (Loretta Lynn & Jack White)

Sehr stark, mein Freund.

Vielen Dank, Walter.

Viele Grüße & weiterhin sichere Straßen, Fritsch.

    Flaschengeist, haha, sehr gut Walter.-

Darin u.a.

The reflection of the man in the background makes the pimage really interesting :)Image and music perfect !

Thanks, my friend. Isn’t it a great tune. Thought it would fit perfect. & had in mind when entering this crazy little place.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

P.S. Danke, Uwe, für den Hinweis auf V. Hammershoi

stillness, silence, glances … a suggestive world.

It’s a dark mix and I’m not sure I would feel too secure in any of it, but being there is too delicious to make me run away. What a jewel, Florian!

    • Fritsch sagt:

These moments when we don’t feel secure & there’s no escape from the darkness are those very special moments. I went in for just one last beer & stayed until it closed. Caught in the moment & couldn’t get out because it felt so good. Thanks, Phil.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

  7. ay, Fritsch, buddy, well Portland, Oregon and a sloe gin fizz, if that ain’t love, now tell me what is!

great song, and a great shot (even if that Danish barmaid never could pour the old fellow watching her a sloe gin in a million years )

    keep ‚em coming, pal!

    Hepp!

    • Fritsch sagt:

Sometimes love is fast beer. And then another & another & another …

And nothing can beat the feeling when we’re drinking with the locals.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

This image… I could only say „This image“ because it’s talking so much about this place where drinkers use to go alone or meet. And we can imagine the stories they’re thinking of or sharing (rarely). Mainly sad stories, because that’s part of our mythology. But sometimes funny too.
And a great framing, Florian, with this man reflecting close to the centre of the image. Which probably means close to you!
I hold my glass of wine to you, brother: and let’s share more stories!

    • Fritsch sagt:

And oh how cling to those sad stories, buddy. They make these places. They make these nights. They make our wanderings. The search for some truth in these local bars in the dark of the night.Driven by the longing to be touched what I can see in his eyes & the way he looks a the woman behind the counter. Let’s drink to the hard working people, brother. Let’s drink to the salt of the earth, Francis.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Vielen Dank, Ulli.

Viele Grüße & weiterhin sichere Straßen, Fritsch.

Thank God there is plenty to drink in th at booth.
Great shot full of wonderful dark corners

    • Fritsch sagt:

And it seems to me that the dark corners are all that matters from time to time. At least when we got something to drink. Thanks, Geert.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

  11. i’m drinking diet coke, not sure if that’s better or worse, but what do i know? lol nice shot, all the concoctions waiting for you to choose your poison!

    • Fritsch sagt:

Baby, you know that we like our towns with a little drop of poison. Just like old man Tom Waits once sang & always will sing.

And maybe diet coke is more posion than one cold beer especially drunk by hot women like you ;-)

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
