songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

gonna chase the dark away

We cast our dreams on waters dark / We just watch them drift away / We turn our eyes heavenward / But feel no need to pray / It’s that day upon day / Trial upon trial / Wished upon, walked upon / Smile, we smile each day / Gonna chase this dark away / Chase the dark away / Chase the dark away (Jim White)

  5. ay, Fritsch, a magnificent shot, and my very first reaction was, like Walter and Marcus, was how „Hopper“-ian the picture is, and that is a compliment, pal!

love the masterful use of color and of composition/negative space as well as the motive of a man alone at the laundromat at night – truly great!

    keep ‚em coming, pal!

    Hepp!

Captain, nighthawks like us can’t help but thinking of Hopper though my first thought was that this could be as well some Kaurismäki film scene.

Anyway the night is ours, buddy, as long as the drinks are served well cooled.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

hellooooo sweet thing!!! your comments always give my heart the biggest smile, and this lovely photograph looks like a classic that should have james dean and marilyn monroe photoshopped in, waiting for their laundry :) maybe we can wash our dirty laundry with this photographic love, and even our hearts will be clean xoxoxox

The light, the colours, the scene, everything here is ‚hopperian“ as it has been said. And, though we all know him, I’m sure that if Hopper hadn’t existed you would have shot this picture because its power is so obvious for any good photographer. And yet more for you, Florian, whose universe crosses this little piece of reality of our common world.
Hit by this true gem, bro!

    • Fritsch sagt:

See me blushing, bro. But what makes me truly happy is that it hits you. Because you & I know what the night can do, Francis. We know what the night can do.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
