songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

come on baby, shake that thing

Whoa baby, I don’t know your name / But I do believe oh yeah you will shake that thing / Come on, come on baby, come on baby, shake that thing (Lightnin‘ Hopkins)

Hab Dank, Uwe!

Viele Grüße & wieterhin sichere Straßen, Fritsch.

Oh yeah, Florian, your night shots are captivating, and more specifically these signs lit in the dark. These are signs of places we would like to know better, places that attract us. We can’t resist to go there, we know we’ll never understand why but we know there’s a little piece of our own mysterious life hidden there. Like in Patrick Modiano’s novels. He wrote them to approach the truth about his own origin, about his father and his mother. And you and I, my friend, we are shooting these places to understand — in fact it’s an illusion — a little bit about us.

… to understand a little bit about us is so damn true, Francis. The longer I photograph, the more songs I listen to & the more books I read the more I feel the search for my own soul. Not in an esoteric kind of way but getting to those darker sides that often tells something about ourselves if we only listen, look carefully & go there. Thanks, my friend.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Baby, you know it’s the other side that matters. And those bluesy Hamburg night strolls truly are the other side. I can’t help but going there. But I promise to return to you to save this wanderer’s soul.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

  4. ayayay, Fritsch, buddy, I’ve stood at this exact spot too some years ago, and what can I say? this is great work – we’re even closer to the flames now, pal! love it!

if we’re ever in Hamburg at the same time we’ll crack a couple of Astra Urtyps, do the Grosse Hafenrundfahrt first and then the Reeperbahn and Grosse Freihet lookin‘ for John Lennon’s ghost, pal, just lookin‘ for that late night rock’n’roll ….

    great work!

    Hepp!

Working on a dream, buddy. That’s what I’m doing. And this dream takes place in Hamburg. It includes women, wing & song, Große Hafenrundfahrt, Reeperbahn & Große Freiheit. And it’s all about photographs, late night rock’n’roll & you. Late night rock’n’roll & just the two of us … the rest will follow.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

I wish I would have titts to shake …
