songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

if I knew it would get me to heaven

I would burn the soles of my feet / Burn the palms of both my hands / If I could learn and be complete / If I could walk righteously again / ‚Cause I want to get right with God / Yes, you know you got to get right with God (Lucinda Williams)

Landstraße in Fischland, a road which can lead to Heaven. Or Hell, depends on every traveller. The road is inside us, anyway. For you, Florian, no doubt it was Heaven. And what’s Heaven? I’m not sure, but I would say that’s an inspiring place, the place where you found a vision of our common world, our mundane world, that helped you, and us, finding the beauty of the „no-limit end of the world“. A fine composition, the very special light of yours, its blacks and whites and subtle greys.
Let’s go on, let’s follow your road for a while. We know this Heaven isn’t eternal. We know the end is closer every day. But I want to believe it was worth travelling with you, my friend.

It looks like there isn’t much left in that particular location. Taking the road „out“ seems like a very good idea. Where it leads might be immaterial. Most certainly, we make our own choices as to which path we take and we need to consider the destination well. Just where is it that we want to go? Before that journey starts, it would be good to weigh the sacrifices against the rewards. Once that is done, start–but not before. Intriguing photo and an interesting match with the song.

Hello sweet heart, getting right with God is super cool and fun, but even Jesus said to count the cost, because it does …. cost the bad you, in exchange for the good you, haha or something like that! But God is a symphony of beauty and you will love Him… and that road, surely will get you there :) we will still comment on each other’s photos in heaven ok?

  7. ay, Fritsch, buddy – all those deserted country roads and all those godforsaken places and all the young men and women pullin‘ out to win, only to discover that Heaven’s somewhere else and there’s nothing that matters except a beat up guitar and lonely Saturday Night Cowboys to keep them company …

ay, Fritsch, buddy – all those country roads, huh, and all those godforsaken places….

    keep on shootin‘, pal!

    Hepp!

There’s no telling where the road might take you, step on it and you could end up anywhere, heaven sure, but who knows where else too, that’s the best part of the discovery
