just wasn’t made for these times

© Nymindegab, Denmark 2012 by Fritsch

I keep looking for a place to fit / Where I can speak my mind / I’ve been trying hard to find the people / That I won’t leave behind / They say I got brains / But they ain’t doing me no good / I wish they could / Each time things start to happen again / I think I got something good goin‘ for myself / But what goes wrong (The Beach Boys)

Wonderful pairing of image to lyrics. Such a sense of abandonment and longing here.

what an unexpected place for a phone. love those tire tracks leading us into the image and wow, what a sky.

  4. ay, Florian, another great shot.

what a mise-en-scène, what a sense of desolation and abandonment, and once again what a great paring of the basic elements, water and air – and clouds which are both water and air at the same time – all topped up with a elling sign of human presence; an emergency telephone ……

    great work, pal!

    Hepp!

Out here in the hinterland where help is just a call away…maybe.
I like the juxtaposition of the implications of the telephone in the midst of the barrens.

To me, this is what travelling is all about. Ending up in a far away, empty location, the result of hours of aimless wandering about, just discovering the land to the whim of the road underneath. I can almost feel the silence

wow, amazing shot, waiting for Godot and trying to phone him lol very surreal looking, a good place to die, no i take that back, nobody wants to die, we shall live forever my friend, and create heaven on earth xoxoxoxoxxox

The kind of landscape I’ve been dreaming to shoot some day… And you made it, my friend!
This contradictory sign, with its arrow pointing towards the right and the likely emergency phone box below, is the perfect metaphore for a non-sense poem.
Didn’t you post it, Florian, the day Curiosity landed on Mars? And if on your landscape the tracks of the wheels would have been there since millions of years? After all, Mars is the future for Earth, isn’t it?

Oh my word! This is astounding. Fantastic image

Looks like the waiting for aid could get long after the urgent call in that place. Godd one!

I like so much this game between the sign and the desert beach: it creates a funny situation. Perfect composition!!
    Have a nice day.

  17. An image as strong there. Symbolism here too surprising…
