whispers home at last

© Rain & cigarettes Savignyplatz Berlin 2009 by Fritsch

Well these diamonds on my windshield and these tears from heaven / Well I’m pulling into town on the Interstate, I got me a steel train in the rain / And the wind bites my cheek through the wing / And it’s these late nights and this freeway flying it always makes me sing (Tom Waits)

  1. Conversations and glances exchanged that have been washed away by the rain. Love the feeling of an important memory in this shot. Beautiful!

very melancholy, i can feel the table wondering if it’s been abandoned for good, no more laughing children, no more coffee and morning paper, but how do you explain to a table that the weather will get better once again…. xooxxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoox

Einmal mehr ein brilliantes Bild und dazu den passenden, grossartigen Songtext, du bist ein absoluter Meister in diesem Fach. Kudos!!!

  5. home at last – das beschreibt das gefühl, das ich gestern endlich wieder einmal im waldstadion hatte, fritsch. ich habe es allerdings nicht geflüstert, sondern laut hinaus geschrien. :-)

after a photo about loneliness you shows us a photo about a melancholic scenery. is this really a melancholic one? i do not think so mister fritsch. this is full of hope and especially of a new good day with a sunny sky and fantastic feelings about love.

    thanks for this.

i really like the atmosphere in this one. everybody has left, and all that was left is the ashtray, and those memories are somehow ‚washed‘ away by the rain. it has a deep meaning. wonderful contrast too. great as usual my friend.

there is a real texture to this image, the high contrast b&w is well suited to this kind of subject matter. There is also a sense of lonliness.

This is so lovely, and yet there is also a sadness about it too.

  10. I can still hear laughter and the buzz of idle conversation
    Keep up the good work

as usual your image and word combination paint a vivid picture…in this case (to me) of regret and loss and absense. excellent.

image très mélancolique où nos sensations de froid, de solitude, de mégots flottants dans un cendrier mouillé..
    magnifique textures, un noir „prenant“
