songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

whisper beautiful secrets into the drainpipes at night

For soon the morning sun will rise / And this little town will open up its eyes / And return from the land where I’ve never been / From a Sleepy-town, that’s free / From all that rainy-rainy-rain falls down / The cool rainy-rain upon my head / Make the river overflow it’s banks / And wash my cares away to Sleepy-town (Jim White)

Vielen Dank, Uwe.

Viele Grüße & weiterhin sichere Straßen, Fritsch.

a town that’s free, that washes the pain away…. i’m not sure that town is on this planet, think you have to go to a supernatural town for that, mon chere… but i do wish that town upon you, sweet thing

Back to this jazzy place and its photographs on the walls, back to its special mood, back to „l’esprit du lieu“. There, you were alone at that moment, which brings us the deepest mood and reveals us this „esprit du lieu“ that most people don’t perceive.
Florian, you couldn’t lose it and you didn’t lose it. Many times I’ve been in this kind of places and I’ve been able to feel in the silence what we can’t feel later at night. Not that one is more valuable than the other. The truth is there is a moment for different feelings. The truth is that you are aware of all of them, bro.

We carry this l’esprit du lieu deep in our heart. And we enjoy the empty room every second before the saxophone player steps on the stage & whispers beautiful secrets into a packed room on a cold Berlin night.

And we don’t loose it. We carry that l’esprit du lieu in us when we close the door, step onto the street & inot the night. We feel the moments, bro. All these different moments.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

How I wish there were a place like that around here. I suppose I’ll have travel half way around the world to find it, though. A place for a close conversation, a little jazz, and little bit of that deep current that Sleepy-town hides–it can’t be too much to ask for, can it?

    • Fritsch sagt:

It ain’t too much to ask for. And I’m glad to have a couple of those places round here, man. Carrying that sleepy town feel in ourselves while diving deep into the big city lights with close conversations & jazz tunes in our heads & souls.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Habt Dank.

Viele Grüße & weiterhin sichere Straßen, Fritsch.

  9. ay, Fritsch, places like that are oases for men like us, they’re great when they’re packed and sometimes they’re even greater when they’re empty – be it before the doors open or aften the last guest has left ….

(it‘ like Miles davis playing what’s not there ….)

    keep ‚em coming pal!

    Hepp!

    • Fritsch sagt:

And those who play what’s not there are the ones that make the difference. And the silence is only interrupted by the sound of filling our glasses again, buddy.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
