songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

don’t get up gentlemen, I’m only passing through

People are crazy and times are strange / I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range / I used to care, but things have changed / I’ve been walking forty miles of bad road / If the Bible is right, the world will explode / I’ve been trying to get as far away from myself as I can / Some things are too hot to touch / The human mind can only stand so much / You can’t win with a losing hand (Bob Dylan)

Vielen Dank, Uwe.

Viele Grüße & weiterhin sichere Straßen, Fritsch.

Crazy things are happening in Postdamer Platz, my friend. What is this monster running trough Berlin nights? A full mystery to me.
„You can’t win with a losing hand“. This shot shows us, Florian, that you never lose your hand (and eye) as a photographer. The contrast between the brightly lit universal tower and the strange thing below, something unknown, makes this picture a true gem.

It’s the pre-Christmas-balloon-monster, Francis, that keeps smiling at you waiting to go like a rocket into a dark night sky. A mysterious & crazy moment one of the busiest places round here especially on that night, a day before the celebration of the 9th November 25 years ago. Thanks, buddy.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

yeah yeah, bob dylan is a satan worshiper no shit he can’t win with a losing hand…. what a place to set your mind, no faith = no glory :)

now what is that pile of stuff? lol

    • Fritsch sagt:

No, no, no, my dear. His Bobness is no satan worshiper. He just knows the dark nights so well. That’s why I combined it with a pair of ballons to light up the darkest nights.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

I see the festive lights and the party balloons going up in the night, celebrating what we are all thinking of.
    It makes a nice picture.
I have to confess i know Dylan very badly.

    • Fritsch sagt:

It was the night before November 9th. And believe it or not they already set up a Christmas market there. And of course they sell ballons. Thanks, Michèle.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Love the tonality of the photo…black and silver and white. The brightly lighted buildings full of business and life yet never moving. And the balloons just waiting to be released so they can fly high and free. It’s a great counterpoint. Dylan’s song had me laughing. All the near caricatures and the little snips of observations and wisdom. It’s all coming out…but he doesn’t care because things have changed. This is the kind of photo and song we would have analyzed for hours when I was in college….but….things have changed. ;-) You did your magic again, Fritsch.

    • Fritsch sagt:

Thanks, Phil. And I think it’s these counterpoints that makes it so damn interesting, that makes us discuss different point of views over a great bottle of red wine just to head out again into the night & all the city’s lonesomeness & promises that will never be fullfilled.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
