so long ago I left it in the dust

So long ago I left it in the dust / Well I was so young and dumb / Ran far away but I have to admit / Sometimes I miss where I’m from (Eels)

For all the symmetry and careful preparation, all it takes is a bit of wind to blow everything away. A strong metaphor. I wonder what would the wind uncover in the dust

I have rarely seen a pyramid of sand so perfect ..
Beautiful black and blance that gives a little more strength to this picture my friend !

A typical composition of yours, Florian, with half of the frame occupied by the „void“ in the below part, and the other half dedicated to the figure itself, here a powerful pattern offered by this pyramid of dust or sand, whose base looks a little bit wet.
The absence of a human presence, especially on the below half of the frame, reinforces the feeling of desolation associated to industrial sites on Sundays or nights, but places we both like to explore in search of something expressing a deeper conscience of our presence to the world.
One more site, my friend, I like to look at with the help of your eyes.

Don’t know why, but I keep thinking of cherries that are beeing put on top of very large pies.
An image that ,puts a smile on my weary face.

  7. ay, Fritsch, buddy, it almost looks like a tit, but just almost :D

the composition is great – you handle negative space so well – and the combination of lyrics and image makes me smile (because I still think of tits :D )

    keep on shooting, pal!

    Hepp!

I am struck by the perfection of the landscape which is of course enhanced by the real perfection of the framing and resolution.
NB In the place itself is not sad because it shows work being done. Work being done by invisable workers…

you know what i miss? the days before the internet, using film, going outside lol… whatever is lost can be found, if sought

    that´s life, isn´t it, darling … ;o)

all the best to you my virtuell friend

All the things I left in the dust are not in nice conical piles; they have disintegrated. Yet, I think I’m wandering around more in where I came from than in where I am now. (It’s one mark of an old man.) Love the shot, Florian.

    Very graphic that cone.
    The gradient texture refers us
on to very natural elements: the mountain.
    Superb framing.
