songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

watching the ships roll in & then I watch ‚em roll away again

© Staatstheater, Darmstadt 2012 by Fritsch

Look like nothing’s gonna change / Everything still remains the same / I can’t do what ten people tell me to do / So I guess I’ll remain the same, yes / Sittin‘ here resting my bones / And this loneliness won’t leave me alone / It’s two thousand miles I roamed / Just to make this dock my home (Otis Redding)

A theater like a ship, a theater to take us for a trip trough imaginary times and spaces, an imaginary theater built for real, the bearness of its lines, its colors. And you, Florian, succeeded in making it yet more pure and beautiful, thanks to your composition, a composition that makes us dream of imaginary times and spaces, imaginary trips remaining of true explorations, estatic visions, high life!

sittin‘ on the dock of the bay, with you darling… one day, when we meet I hope God lets us have photoblogs… of course, there will be no tears, only love for images like this beauty…

I’ve edited my comment several times and still can’t put my thoughts into words. I’ll try this: The photo is enigmatic. I see both the individual sections and also the structure formed of sections bent and shaped as needed for the forming of the structure. The song tells me of a man who isn’t, can’t, or won’t conform to the bending and shaping of life. He expects nothing else to happen, his course is chosen, and life moves on. This song is a bit of a lament and, yet, it is a song of freedom. Which is better: freedom or conformity? Which is more beneficial? We can identify with the singer and then we look at a functioning structure and the voices start calling to us to conform. Will we lose ourselves in the process? Ah, Florian, you always start the amateur philosopher in me.

a fine graphic shot, excellent work!

So I guess I’ll remain the same, yes / Sittin’ here resting my bones.

Hey Florian impactful words! Another standout… exquisite detailing add to the appeal of this picture plus what I call „Simplicity At Its BEST“ – At anytime „A JEWEL“.
