songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

painted my name on the back of a leaf & I watched it float away

© Autobahn, Berlin 2011 by Fritsch

I painted my name on the back of a leaf / And I watched it float away / The hope I had in a notebook full of white, dry pages / Was all I tried to save / But the wind blew me back via Chicago / In the middle of the night / And all without fight / At the crush of veils and starlight (Wilco)

A crossroad and at this point a light to offer a view at night, helping maybe to make a decision. For sure, that night has nothing to see with the earth’s revolution, it just has to see with a mind’s revolution, your mind’s, Florian.
That’s your’s but I can imagine myself being at the same point, making the same kind of decision, knowing that there is no right way, but a hard way to follow. with the thunder rollin‘ when it’s not expected, like in the song you chose.
A great and beautiful gem, Florian.

  2. A great graphic masterpiece, as we all know you photograph these so well.

    Geert

  3. Two roads converging, creating the perfect balance for an all too brief instant. The moment dances in space and time, all and anything feels possible. Content and joyful you await the next day, the next moment, but the moment is all too fleeting,in an instant it evaporates before you’re very eyes, leaving you alone, again. The moment blown away, forever lost.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and in you’re case this is very true my friend…I look at your shots, and they transport me, far away.

So powerful and evocative. Wonderful composition!

  5. So stark and gorgeous! The b&W treatment really gives it depth, too.

A wonderful photograph! Your work is reminiscent of Moriyama, and I mean that well. It’s colder, in a way, which I also appreciate.

The autobahn roadways seem to fold back into themselves as our own hopes seem to do at times. There is always the journey and the search and the grasping at dreams. We may end up where we began, but we take that journey over and over again…even if we won’t admit that we do. Thought provoking combination of your photo and the lyrics as always. Nicely done, Sir.

Fantastic lines my friend, the emptiness and anguish of silence, yet the almost palpable sky and soothing loneliness

Nice work on lines; the BW process is perfect for this kind of picture.
