shelter from the winds, from the cold & dark

© Barn & plank, France 2011 by Fritsch

You built those walls / To hide your fears inside / We were younger then / It’s safe now to come outside / We built this home / On this little piece of land / The sky above is dark / No rain comes in (Ryan Adams)

Beautiful rendition. You have an eye to see the beauty in life.

  2. ay, Fritsch – this piece is an almost perfect follow-up to your previous post, on which I commented:

„once again you show that great talent of yours for composition, texture, light and contrast, and once again you reveal the inherent tensions between man and our structures and the untamed beauty, danger and freedom of everything we didn’t make – our subconsciousnesses included!

    great lyrical pairing too!“

and I cannot do anything but repeat myself, and allplaud you for expanding the view with this frame!

    keep that gunpowder dry, pal!

    Hepp!

A remaining wall in the middle of the frame, in the middle of the world… there’s always a remaining wall in front of us… sometimes we just don’t know it… and behind the wall, another world…

Well, we have some consciousness of this state, the state of mind. Deeper when loaded by „l’esprit du lieu“. We have some consciousness, but it’s yet better when you show it, Florian. We are yet more aware of this state of mind, we can feel „l’esprit du lieu“, „l’esprit du lieu“ which floats around, beyond a tree, a river. Or a remaining wall.

hello there, i think the fears, from when we were young, get worse as we age, not better… if only in our dreams… lovely shack picture… a place to go to fix the bad stuff that happened there

When I visit your blog, I’m impressed with your consistency in your photos, your style, your melding the image with soulful lyrics, and the immense amount of thought you always evoke from your visitors. It is really quite a testimony to the impact you have had through your photography, your wanderings, and the introspective process that you have prior to posting your photos. Not all of us possess the ability to move the thoughts, minds, and dreams of others like you, Florian. Thank you for your investment of time and self into your photographic projects and for sharing them with all of us.

(HA!) There’s a dash of treasure hunting… a bit of sorcery… „A good one driving the mystery train plus your verses chugging right along.“ Flawless this depiction Florian! As if heading to give island dwellers their own private concert hahhhahhahaa.

    Deliciously gritty and well composed.

Perhaps the real shelter is not inside but outside, into the real world, getting wet by the rain, everyday. The inside perhaps provides only the illusion of a shelter
