songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

faith of the eye, faith of the ear

Every true poem is a spark, / And aspires to the condition of the original fire / Arising out of emptiness. / It is that same emptiness it wants to reignite / It is that same engendering it wants to be re-engendered by. / Shooting stars. / April’s identical, / Celestial, wordless, burning down. / Its light is the light we commune by. / Its destination’s our own, its hope is the hope we live with (Avishai Cohen, poem by Charles Wright)

every spark wants to be a blaze… i like that, and it usually dies trying to be, doesn’t it? one last fit of bright passion, then it fizzles out… kind of sad.

I was so busy studying the trumpet player that I didn’t notice the man at the left at first. Once I saw him, the photo opened up. I like the connection that seems to have formed between the musician and the listener/viewer. Both are deeply intense at what they are doing. The performance and the reception of it are everything.

Chapeau … Floriantastisch ins Bild gesetzt, music for the eyes!

Florian, your pictures of Avishai Cohen are always precise (I mean shot at the right moment). And we know that for music photos the important thing is the right timing (I lost the right expression, but you know what I mean!)
