songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

it’s way wilder down the street

Another year of roving & rambling. Another year of running to sometimes stand still. Another year of growing but not necessarily getting smarter. Another year of searching …

Leaving the bed way too early just to find those misty mornings by the side of the road …

Searching for one more rainbow in that cold beautiful winter light down this old road …

Just to find a bucket full of tears & a hard luck story & a bad moon risin’ behind & …

Just to see that things left in the dust & all the running makes me miss where I’m from …

And what I will become will slowly taking shape amidst the balancing, the diesel & dust …

Amidst all the long time rambling while we seem to loose our spirit to the wind & sun …

And find rest while listening. And find cure in that ol‘ brother of mine called whiskey …

But all it takes is smiling at the world & suddenly the sweetest young girls smile back …

At that fast-talkin’ & hell raisin’ son-of-a-bitch & that sinner who knows how to fight …

At this rambling brother howlin‘ at the big ol‘ moon who was built, just built to roam & …

So he will roll & he will suffer while that damn ol‘ road seems to gets longer & longer & …

Suddenly there’s a place where everything around you vanishes for a blink of an eye …

Knowing you won’t get lost along the way, someone will wait where you’re heading to …

And these streets are ours even if our nights are filled with smiles all sweet with pain …

But we can never leave ‚cause our hearts & souls were there, are there & will be there …

And what we left behind we will return to & where we never been to we’re heading for …

In between a milion light years, arrivals, departures & another magic night to dive into …

Señor Blues left 7th street wonderland & he don’t care what tomorrow brings as long …

As it looks dark, blue & way evil filled with all the sparkling late night rock’n’roll promises …

Hearts flutter and race, the moon’s on the wane / Tarts mutter their dream hopes the night will ordain / Come schemers and dancers, cherry delight / As a Cleveland-bound Greyhound and it cuts through the night / And I’ve hocked all my yesterdays / Don’t try and change my tune / ‚Cause I thought I heard a saxophone / I’m drunk on the moon (Tom Waits)

Thanks for your companionship in the past year folks & I’m hoping to see you on these roads somewhere in 2015. All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

„And I’ve hocked all my yesterdays / Don’t try and change my tune / ‘Cause I thought I heard a saxophone / I’m drunk on the moon“ – in diesem Sinne prost and bye for now

Hello my little cabbage, you make me want to cry as we look back on all the moments lost, like tears in the rain… but i won’t cry, because you were there, making me smile, smiles of pain, smiles in spite of the pain, smiles at your sweetness that won’t be caught by one woman, your wild horses that run too fast for those of us who just want to warm ourselves by the hearth… alas, there goes Florian, running like the wind. Happy New Year, baby xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoox

Thanks, Florian, for your kind words as comments on my blog. Thanks for accompanying me along these roads. Thanks for sharing stories, simple and incredible like life offers to each one of us.
Your last picture of 2014 is the kind of picture I’m anxious to receive, the proof of your great talent. And I received it on that first day of 2015, with a great pleasure and a lot of hope, cause it shows me that even in the night, in the cold, there is a place where to meet and share.
No doubt, bro, that we’ll see through our eyes scenes that will mark us all along 2015. I wish you a happy new year!

A happy new year to you, brother of mine. Let’s take a new road with „old“ companions & find those stories that just need to be told & listen to those songs, that break our hearts & lift us up all at the same time.

Akll the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

You have the ramblin‘ and the blues in you as well as a sense of time and poetry. Every time you document life, it shows just who and what you are. (not sure I agree with the caption under your photo, though). Thanks for sharing 2014 with us. I wish you the best in 2015–peace, prosperity, and love–but not so much that you lose that edge that keeps us coming back to visit you here. :)

    Happy New Year, Fritsch.

The edge is holy to me. And I do my very best not to lose it, my friend. And it’s just the same with a bit of self-mockery. Wishing you a grand 2015 & so looking forward to another year with you, my precious long time companion.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

  9. ay, Fritsch, buddy – a great summary of 2014 – many of my favorite shots of Yours from the past year is here, and i was cool to see them again!

here’s to 2015, pal – may it bring more moments like these!

    Hepp!

Captain, 2014 was remarkable but I know we will make 2015 something unforgettable … more wine, more women, more song. The rest will follow. So here’s to you & 2015.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
