songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

a color, a color, the blues is more than a color

Some blues are sad / But some are glad / Dark, sad or bright, glad / They’re all blues / All shades, all hues, all blues (Miles Davis)

Spent the last weeks being blue with Uwe in the Zustandszone … an amazing feeling in some of the greatest little gallery.

The blues is more than a colour, sure. The blues is maybe the best moment of our life, though paradoxical. But in the case of Uwe, about the photographs of this exhibition, what about blue and blues? I would like to visit too this exhibition in Hamburg…
And what about this blue theme? Or these blues? Sad or glad? Or sad and glad? The important is to stop and look at the pictures for a long moment, until entering in each universe. Are the photos of the exhibition the same than the blog?
Thanks, Florian, to share with us.

Yes, Francis. The photographs are all from his series „Being Blue“. Thinking about being blue there’s no chance to miss Miles Davis, right?

And being three days a week in Hamburg I took the chance to see the exhibition, getting to know Uwe & let me show the amazing city.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

reminds me of the movie ‚crossroads‘ about the guy that sold his soul to the devil to be the greatest blues guitarist ever…. when the girl leaves and he says to the boy, ‚THAT’S the blues‘

    • Fritsch sagt:

Ah baby, don’t we all sell our souls to the devil to be the greatest blues man or woman. And after that fighting to win back our souls? There’s no escape from the blues, sweetheart. No escape but blues, blues & blues.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Vielen Dank, mein Lieber!

Viele Grüße & weiterhin sichere Straßen, Fritsch.

A picture of solitary contemplation. It’s intriguing to wonder what worlds he is finding in those photos. We all see them differently.
I like this photo a lot.

The first time I heard Miles Davis, I was totally lost. I haven’t studied jazz structure so it was all very esoteric. It still is, but I have learned to listen and feel the flow. It seems a lot like life and that is what I see in your photos, Fritsch. Little glimpses into larger scenes and hints at the drama and the production.

    Artistry flows deep here.

    • Fritsch sagt:

It really has been an experience in contemplation, Phil. And man, I get lost each time I listen to Miles Davis but it feels like carrying me away at the same time.

It truly is a place to return to because that little gallery is so one of a kind as well as diving deep into Uwes Being Blue series feel like drifting you onto different shores while being stuck in those daily situations that we all see so differently. Thanks, my friend!

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

There’s no colour so vivid so rich as blue and all its nuances, for every sliver of brightness there seems to be a million more of blue. To that hue so blue, we sing and raise our glasses
