songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

that man that she was looking for was only twenty streets away

There was a lonely girl from nowhere / With a smile all sweet with pain / And she never stopped to wonder / If she’d see him again / It was a private conversation / No one heard her say / That man that she was looking for / Was only twenty streets away (Lyle Lovett)

i love this, baby, the lyrics go perfectly with the picture… it kind of makes my heart break a little…. you’re only 20 countries away, but our photos are so close

Baby, if it’s only twenty countries we’ll make it someday because it’s less countries between the both of us & all others we’ve already crossed. And you know that you’re not alone.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Toll!
    Viele Grüße von uns,

Vielen Dank Ihr Beiden.

good days and ways for <ou

It’s a great picture! I don’t want to try to interpret it, but like Ulli i feel as if i was watching a movie, a good movie.

    • Fritsch sagt:

Thanks, Michèle. Me myself felt watching a movie. That’s the magic of the blue hour, this moment before everything sinking in darkness & there’s just enough light left to see what people are doing & waitig for.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

This photo and song are a perfect match. That seriousness, the possible searching, the undefinable reach of emotion–it’s all there.
This shot would stand on it’s own in the street genre; the added push of the lyrics make it come to life.

I was first drawn in by the sticker saying „Too Slow to Disco“. That woman was busy with the mobile & I immediately felt the urge to grab the camera. The light was just right & the seeting seemed perfect. And suddenly it was all there: The city. The street. The stories. Thanks, Phil!

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

  6. ay, Fritsch, buddy, great work – a beautiful picture which truly captures the tragic beauty of (some) modern lives. it could easily be screenshot from an early Jum Jarmusch or Aki Kaurismäki-movie!

    keep ‚em coming, pal!

    Hepp!

    • Fritsch sagt:

Captain, my captain … as long as life gives us those Jarmusch/Kaurismäki moments the nights are worth every rambling, every tragic & all the songs. Thanks, buddy.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

A kind of an echo to my last post, this girl looking for a man and waiting for him too long… That’s life, some may think. But let’s never accept these little disagreements!
And I totally agree with Captain Calypso.

    • Fritsch sagt:

Ans it was meant as an echo, my friend. It was meant to be just that. And we praise those Jarmusch/Kaurismäki moments because ohtherwise life would be all boring. Thanks, Francis!

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Who knows what’s in that look, and what’s beyond the frame. What dream or sight hidden from us, but like that window above her head, floats like a dream
