midnight cars roll down the street, streetlight shines in the gutter

It’s cold and you’re leaving / Midnight cars roll down the street / The streetlight shines in the gutter / And you going off to sleep / But baby I sit up smoking / Wipe the ashes off the bed / Think of what you told me / And the words I never said / I won’t be leaving / I won’t be leaving anymore (Dave Alvin)

  2. ay, Fritsch, buddy, sometimes life looks like a shiny lucky prize draw glowing in the deep darkness of the night – some are winners and get to take the elephant home, and some leave empty handed …

great work, pal! light and composition are flawless!

    Hepp!

This brings back memories. I used to spend hours in arcades where they had machines just like this trying to catch some candy.
    Another great one.

Very strange sensation as the kiosk with a bit lost as we do not know where …

Sometimes dim lights lead us to little treasures and we can’t help but play the game and try to claim them. Sometimes we win; sometimes we lose. Sometimes it doesn’t matter.

An extremely atmospheric photo, Florian. It reminds me of a set from The Twilight Zone. I like it!

Brings me back a long long time ago, some of my first nights in the city, giving an hand to the father or the mother. A long long time ago, but we know that these moments stay forever impressed in our memories. And that’s something that you managed, Florian, to capture so well.
And I have to add that this is a picture with remarkable blacks and grays, as shows for instance the night sky in the left corner.

  12. Die Einsamkeit der Elefanten. Matt und schlaff. Ins grelle Licht getaucht.

A lottery, essentially, where we feel we have a bit of control, and surprises ! a great metaphor for life, isn’t it ?
