songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

stayed inside for too long, waiting for the sun to shine

Back in old ’93 / The Mississippi had her way with me / And you just never know what the rain will bring / Sometimes it stops as soon as it starts / Other times you wish you had Noah’s Ark / And you just never know what the rain will bring / I’ve stayed inside for too long / Waiting for the sun to shine / Tomorrow could mean anything / Oh, you just never know what the rain will bring (Pokey LaFarge)

„Tomorrow could mean anything“, or nothing. If tomorrow the shutter (or the sun) will not rise again. Well, Florian, I just hope this metaphorical picture won’t mean this nothing. So I want to see this other minimalist composition as it is, a beautiful shading off.
What could we find behind this metal shutter? Hidden things are always more powerful than things shown. That’s another potential reading. And here we have a complete freedom, there are no hints to help us!
The Pokey LaFarge is another interesting discovery to me.

  5. Darkness and some specs of light, that is all it takes to produce a great image… If you have the eye of a photographer that is. And you have, my friend.
One can doubt a lot of things in this life, but not that.

Fantastic, Florian, both the minimalistic image and the text with it (and I took the occasion to listen to Pokey Lafarge on youtube. Those guys *have* the blues)
The pattern and the word Missisippi immediately make me think of some Alligator’s teeth. This is where photography goes beyond the subject and sets the mind free to float. Perfectly done!
