songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

everywhere I go it rains on me

This is how the world will be / Everywhere I go it rains on me / Forty monkeys drowning in a boiling sea / Everywhere I go it rains on me / I went down into the valley to pray / Everywhere I go it rains on me / I got drunk and I stayed all day / Everywhere I go it rains on me (Tom Waits)

  3. haha, ay, Fritsch, buddy, it’s a wonderful shot and a heartfelt cry and you’ve found the unofficial national anthem of Bergen to go with it!

(luckily our whole town’s tilted so it just runs off :D )

stay in the saddle, pal, and keep the gun powder dry!

    Hepp!

This was Sunday, this was yesterday, I received a YouTuble machine mail inviting me to listen to Bruce Springteen’s, this was Sunday and I knew, Florian, that you had posted a new picture, this was yesterday and the same machine mail also invited me to listen to Jean-Louis Murat’s „A Woman On My Mind“ and it gave me some more energy, my friend, the energy I would need to look again at your pictures and also my pictures, my future ones maybe, this was Sunday and it’s now Monday and I’m looking at these people you caught, Florian, these black and white people under the rain, along with a Tom Waits‘, in a composition making me think of Gustave Caillebotte’s subjective angle, it’s Monday night and Bardolino’s fresh fruits are raining in my stomach while I’m looking at this picture of yours, Florian, something I couldn’t expect, while I’m drinking a Bardolino’s bottle, remembrance of my last Italian trip, these people with black and white umbrellas, this black and white sky made of black and white clouds, something I couldn’t expect, and I’m wondering where these people go, which thing made them fight against the rain, or was it that they were playing with the elements, and it’s now still Monday night, a still night, with a tv in the distance playing sounds I can’t understand, a music made of rains and people singing and umbrellas open to face a gray sky, Monday night open to Tom’s songs, open to tears and more tears. Cause we know it’s always raining tears these days of desparate skies and lost clouds.

Tom Wait’s song made me smile. I’d say that rough and raw voice can tell the tale pretty well…and I’m prone to believe he is telling the truth! Your photo brings along a deeper feeling; the rain and being out in it–because we have to more than want to. Well, give me an umbrella because I think and hope the sun will come out eventually. For now, though, everywhere I go…you know the rest.
    Enjoyable work, Sir.

As the weather is not a reflection of your soul … it goes well !
