songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

something with no beginning has an end

© Autobahn, Berlin, 2013, Florian Fritsch

I’m walking down a lonely road / Clear to me now but I was never told / Trouble with dreams is you never know / When to hold on and when to let go / If you let me down it’s alright / At least that leaves something for me / ‚Cause you know I’ve got an awful lot of big dreams (Eels)

For Francis because when the roads get long & the night gets dark & darker he’s there to share a thought & shine a light.

Oh, Florian, what a good surprise to read your words! And yet more at a moment when I’m in a great despair for so many reasons, little things that I made too big in my mind, probably.
But I’m not so alone, thanks to you. And what a beautiful shot! I love this composition where you dare use almost half of the frame to show us the dark structure under the bridges.
The thematics of the bridge is also something that talks to me of friendship, despite of the long physical distances. And helps me to think about the future. Thanks a lot, my friend.

And this one’s for all those who travel alone, to those who know the long dark road too well, even the road must end

A thought-provoking photo, Fritsch. From this vantage point, I can‘ only wonder where those roads go and conjure up thoughts about who might be traveling on them and for whatever purposes they might be on their journey. It’s a point of observance, of course, but I would much rather be ON those roads trying to find the answers to my imagining if I could. But…that is a whole different journey, isn’t it?

Love the composition: the clouds appearing between the concrete. Strong!
