Outside another yellow moon / Has punched a hole in the nighttime, yes / I climb through the window and down to the street / I’m shining like a new dime / The downtown trains are full with all of those Brooklyn girls / They try so hard to break out of their little worlds (Tom Waits)

    Beautiful renditions of human socialization.
The topmost photo if labeled could be called together alone.
The one on the bottom is heartwarmingly picturing people coming together celebrating.

  3. ay, Fritsch, now you really now how to make that M9 talk, pal! great framing, great light and … great storytelling, as always!

    love it!

Two variances of the the human experience and you have captured the moods so well. Great photos, Florian. You have the camera that I thought you were getting, and you are putting it to good use already! I’m sure you are thrilled with it. The rest of us are just waiting for more of your stories!

There are the commemorations with its crowds in the beginning. And then less and less people. There are the last fireworks of the so-called special night. And then there is to go back home. Walking. Or traveling by the tube. Or the last bus. The moment to remember fresh memories. Made of deceived hope. Made of regrets.

Two pictures that make me build a short story. Something inspired by your shots. And by my own memories. That’s how our minds are working. No way to escape.

Beautiful stuff, Florian, for beginning this new year. Feliz ano novo!

The combination of the two pictures wants to tell the story of the celebration of the new year: together in the crowd, and quite alone in the way back home. really like it.
    Have a nice day.
