a circus round here for sure & I worry about how I’m fitting in

© Spindlersfeld, Berlin 2012, Florian Fritsch

Where the hookers and thieves and the junkies play / It’s a circus round here for sure / And I worry about how I’m fitting in / If I only had her / And I know my friends they worry about me / I can see it written on their face / But despite anything I might have said before / The bar is a beautiful place (Ryan Adams)

You surprise me with a frame in color.
Still your style and an interesting one.

  4. ay, Fritsch – the bar is a beautiful place, and so is this great picture! it’s got a great Edward Hopper feeling to it, and there’s nobody who does it better than you!

    Hepp!

A moving picture. And also the moving picture of a loneliness on the move. A great use of the light. And the black. The black as an emptyness. Or the black as a fullness. Where is the focus? The lonely man looking for the unknown, the last form of hope. Or the black behind which stand all the mysteries, all the hopes?

A beautiful picture of our nights, Florian. The nights which are the moments we open our secret boxes. Full of memories, songs, pictures.

i used to go to the bar alot when i was about 20 years old, we had a great band scene back home… now i couldn’t STAND being in a bar, the noise, the smell, it would probably kill me haha… you go there for me, my dear, and i will sit in the quiet, with my little dog beside me, loving your pictures xoxoxox

Sometimes it comes down to that „one special person who isn’t here“ (again and again)…and sometimes we just need a light in the darkness–even if we don’t fit in. Sometimes it doesn’t matter. Another thought-provoking photo, Florian.

Wow – what a powerful image. I love your dramatic play with light and shade. The loneliness of the person in the street creates a strong atmosphere. Your image reminds me of Nighthawks, one of my favourite paintings by Edward Hopper. Many compliments on this amazing photograph!
