came like lightning in my arms, came tearing through the night

Came running from nowhere fast, came stumbling at me through the dark / Breaking right through my skin – and I can taste no other / Came like lightning in my arms, came tearing through the night (Tindersticks)

Do we spend time and energy in pursuit of something past when we haven’t explored what may lie ahead? We make the choice and can only assume what the outcome might be. Sometimes the pursuit is better than the acquisition. Sometimes we won’t find ourselves until we have run ourselves into exhaustion trying to seek a phantom. We choose which road we will take and we travel not knowing where we may go. Isn’t that the way of life so often?
You’re a manufacturer of dreams, Florian, and you take us on journeys with every photo you reveal to us.

Was ist an leeren Straßen so faszinierend, so archetypisch?
Ein (weiteres) Sinnbild der conditio humana?

    Gruß, Uwe

  3. ay, Fritsch, another great shot of that always almost mythic, yet ever so mundane moment: driving down an empty road with everything ahead of you and everything behind you, that moment when everything’s possible, but where we almost always end up just going to the supermarket …….

    great shot, buddy!

    Hepp!

Well, there is along a Tindersticks song, but my computer was playing Neil Young’s last album (Driftin‘ Back) when your picture, Florian, appeared on my screen. And that’s working fine too. And yet more, the images of „Ramada Inn“ stick perfectly to this new beauty of yours. Well that’s just to say I can stare at this picture and travel along with you, thanks to your views. I don’t know where I’m going to, but that’s not the important point, the important thing is just to go on and on one more day. Just to see beauties of our ordinary world, just to dream of paradoxal new territories offered by our mundane world.

when dark matter comes flying from the river and knocks on your bedroom window in the dead of night, it’s time to… roll over and go back to sleep :) zen and the art of ignoring everything bad… i should write a book on the subject… how are you my dear? out on the lonesome road? that’s ok, as long as it always brings you back to me xoxoxoxox

A visual treat Florian liking much the subject matter… your kind of material (HA!).

Your roads have no direction, one can be coming or going, moving, in any case, that is important, keep moving and bringing us these images from the road
