10 miles to go on a 9 mile road

© CAFE-BAR DANCING, Frankreich 2011 by Fritsch

They tell me miracles abound now more than ever, but I don’t care / They say it’s better to be blessed than it is to be clever, but I don’t care / ‚Cause I got 10 miles to go on a 9 mile road, and it’s a rocky rough road, but I don’t care / For life’s nothing if not a blind rambling prayer, you keep your head held high, a walking and a talking ‚til the power of Love deliver you there (Jim White)

I’ve immediately seen the setting for a novel by Patrick Modiano. Don’t know if Modiano has been translated in German. But anyway, that’s it, I can imagine the scene, the narrator looking for some signs from a troubled past, trying to understand. Don’t we all try to undertand the why and the how? Café Bar Dancing: we can see the dancers on a cloudy sunday afternoon, going there and hoping some new faces or, by the contrary, waiting for the accustomed clients.
And that’s also an impeccable composition enhancing the potentiality for mystery, making easy to imagine stories. A great picture indeed, Florian.

But sometimes the length of the road is irrelevant, and you feel you could keep going, no matter how rough the long road, keep going, on reserves of … whatever fuels the thoughts inside

    very nice capture..good bw!

Go G R A B your „strong coffee plus cigarettes“ (HA!)… great descriptive heading Florian „10 miles to go on a 9 mile road“ as always your clever choice of words!

  11. Un petit coin de France bien perdu…
