if I lose myself it’ll be in a place that felt clear

© Vejers Strand, Denmark 2012 by Fritsch

It doesn’t have to be that town / I’ve just always liked it there / At least if I lose myself / It’ll be in a place that felt clear / And all I ask is for a little money and some time / And maybe I’ll be sane for a while (Richmond Fontaine)

Alone and happy (maybe), the man and his horse, euh, his car. Can go almost everywhere, far from the crowds. Just needs „a little money and some time“. Nothing more precious than time…
And there is the music of the waves and the wind, and some birds from time to time, and maybe some good song chanting in the mind…
Alone and free, that man. But you were there, Florian, not very far from him, just to offer us this illustration of simple pleasures, great moments in the middle of (almost) nowhere. Tonight, I’ll close the eyes and I’ll try to make myself (almost) alone, in the plane carrying me from Brazil to France…

lose yourself in God’s thoughts, lose yourself in my kitteh’s eyes, lose yourself in your friends‘ photography, just don’t lose yourself in the abyss, because we will need to know where to find you when we need a fix of your perfect black and whites, and your loving comments on our blogs… what would we do without you? we don’t want to know xoxoxoxoxox

This photo has a good deal of happiness and calm in it. My thoughts here are whispered. I’d hate to disturb the sun bather’s reverie. There is a searching heart in (most of) us. We seek for the best of times, that perfect place, just a little more than enough money, that person who is dressed in the fantasy that they can answer every hidden need, and for unlimited tomorrows. What we really should seek first is what is Highest and Best and for what we are as a person. The rest falls into line after that. Nice photo, Florian.

  5. A place that feels clear, that is just what this is. Pure emptiness in which one can find some peace, even if it is behind a car . A wonderful shot

  7. ay, Fritsch, I’ve told you before that you spent your days in Denmark wisely, and this killer image of yours only emphasizes my previous comments on your Danish beach series!

love the lyrics pairing too – all I need is a place that feels a little clear, some money and some time and maybe – maybe – I’ll be sane for a while ….

    I’ll co-sign that!

    keep ‚em coming, pal!

    Hepp!

  8. No man’s land, except this man found the perfect spot for being alone and for contemplation. Excellent!

I love this „middle of nowhere“ type photography, unidentified landscape, wide, wild, empty and beautiful, just the hint of your presence there. If this is Denmark, I’ve also seen pictures from Iceland like this, can’t wait to see these one day
    Keep them coming my friend
