kick ‚til the dust comes up from the cracks in the floor

© Westjütland, Denmark 2012 by Fritsch

Said it’s a mean old world, heavy in need / That big machine is just picking up speed / They were supping on tears, they were supping on wine / We all get to heaven in our own sweet time / So come all you Asheville boys and turn up your old-time noise / And kick ‚til the dust comes up from the cracks in the floor (Gillian Welch)

I could stare at this picture all night, with my cup of hot cocoa in my hand, and you in my heart, my friend… did you come to the end of the road? were you sad or happy to find the endless expanse of sea there? did it inspire you to build a boat and keep going? :)

  4. Such a strong image, evocative, and full of reflection (literal as well as imaginative) I love it. Cheers. JL

Good photo with a story that is aided by the lyrics you cite. Makes me remind myself that everything ends at some point. May as well „kick up the dust“ while we have time, eh?

  6. “ One evening,I was walking along a path, the city was on one side and the fjord below. I felt tired and ill. I stopped and looked out over the fjord. The sun was setting, and the clouds turning blood red.
I sensed a SCREAM passing through nature“

Finding such a place is not so „easy“, that’s what I thought first. But that was a wrong thought, you arrived there because you had to. Not that I’m a mystic, but because you are one of the few people with such kind of destiny. I can’t explain. And I just hope you can understand me. And I know you understand me. That’s the eye, your very peculiar eye, Florian, that leads you to these places.
Well, should I add this picture is about destiny, about the road you’re traveling, about philosophy? And, above all, about the beauty of our lost world…

Certain roads seem to lead us to promised adventures then stop abruptly, but it is not the destination as they say, perhaps it is the setting, those rolling clouds. Before we go on with the journey

  12. ay, Florian – this is an amazing shot, I’ve looked at it several times, and I cannot help but love it… the peaceful tranquility, the … loneliness, the elements meeting – the ocean, the sky and the amazing clouds which are both ocean and sky at same time – air and water – and … not at least the finality, the end of the line-quality of the pier ….

    great work!

    Hepp!

Pump Up The Volume (HA! yet again)… you have delivered yet another artfully structured piece adding to some of your very fine work by way of „ARTSY EYE“… Kudos Florian! Loving much the Mood & Mode collectible.

  16. Awesome! Awesome! Just beautiful. The photo that would make all. My compliments, Florian.
