I left a friend and my Louisianna / But in other countries, good bye savannah / Instead of giving us bombs / Give us powered pumps so that at least / We can have what we need to live / To have a better life and knowledge and wisdom (Ali Farka Toure)

The complications of human life, needs, desires and the grasp for survival or complete dominance either in the world or simply over a few aren’t easy to comprehend. We go one way or the other and keep looking over our shoulders at the other side thinking that one or the other isn’t enough. Sadly enough, we are right; we are our own confusion. Still, we know we are also our own hope–if we will allow ourselves to be. Fritsch, the photo story teller, does it again!

There are hidden migrants hidden in trucks, there are these migrants showing themselves on the platfom of a truck and I guess they are artists. These are two faces of our trips, we are all migrants. Some are lucky, some are desperate, but they are – we are – all feeling some „saudade“ from time to time. I’ve never been living a long time in the same city when I was a child, I thought for a long time I was lucky not to have deep roots, I think from time to time that I’m missing some roots. Who knows? And these artists, what do they feel? Does the exile give nutrishment to their inspiration? Your picture, Florian, opens many questions to me. Your picture is a mirror to me and to the people of the world around.

  6. This is image is rich and full of life. I read the narrative which goes hand in hand with the image its inviting. Inviting to a world in which we remember the goods of life including our regrets. Life is a complicated or at least we make it so but in my view, I think life is simple and as such I like to live it.

Lovely tones, all the best Florian
