broken saved & all alone

© La Rochelle, France 2011 by Fritsch

Darling why did you leave me down here / Broken empty and all alone / While you sit up on your golden throne in the sky / And I’ve came here to take you home / God damn it you’ll take her home / My God (Micah P. Hinson)

There they are, waiting for warmer times, ready to bulge under heavy load..

you can stack your empty church chairs all the way to heaven, and come get me from where i have my nose stuck in the clouds, gazing upon Jesus‘ delicacy and tenderness… and we will come back down to earth and travel that open road, until it leads us home.. don’t cry baby, we’ll get there xoxoxoxox

    Saisonsende,
    Zeitenwende,
    geschlossene Türe,
    gestapelte Stühle,
    das Plakat verweist,
    in schwarz auf weiss,
    auf längst Vergangenes.

Used, put away, unwanted or are they just waiting for another event, another audience, another chance to do what they do best?
There’s always a story–even if it isn’t the real one. That makes your photography sing it’s own song, my friend.

  7. Ah man, the lyrics goes so astonishingly well with the b&w, and they are stark, just like your shot. You create pure poetry, my friend. And one can’t help but sense that it comes straight from the heart, straight from the deepest recesses of your tender soul. A beautiful & harsh composition, all at the same time, and so is life also.

  8. ah, another great shot, pal! a „chairway“ to heaven ;-)

love the texture, the feeling of absence, the … emptiness…..

keep up the good work, my friend – sorrows shall pass!

Florian, here they are these chairs of La Rochelle you were talking about in a comment last month. And as they look like climbing, this photograph makes me climb my memories til a very ancient and dark past. What makes us look at these chairs and shoot them? While I was wondering, came back to me images kept from my childhood, images of chairs over tables in a café from northern France. Why was I fascinated by this „installation“? Why these empty chairs and not the chairs and their sitting occupiers? Was, at that distant time, the feeling of abandon strong enough to imprint my mind?
Thanks, Florian, for giving me the opportunity to remember these times, though hard, and to help me make’em more and more beautiful. You’re an alchemist, my friend!

stacked chairs, like a gauge for loneliness, the higher the chairs, the emptier the place and these tell a long story. the simplicity is absolute

Nice composition with the chairs. Great eye to catch this moment of abandon, where „cafés“ are closed… LOve this atmosphere.
    Have a nice day.
