another side to this life

© R4, Frankreich 2011 by Fritsch

Well my whole world’s in an uproar / My own world’s upside down / I don’t know where I’m going / But I’m always bumming around / And that’s another side to this life / I’ve been leading / And that’s another side of this life (Fred Neil)

A R4, the car with which I’ve been traveling from France to Turkey when I was a student, the car with which I’ve lost some friends, the broken car of broken hearts.
Well, Florian, this new gem of yours is also a view of a France that wouldn’t have changed since 30 or 40 years, a view of the so-called eternal France.
And I can imagine someone getting out of the neighbouring house, opening the door of the car and going out in my direction, bursting out my monitor and taking me for a ride through a world designed by a frozen but warm memory.

Lang ist’s her. Gruß, Uwe

A classic and timeless frame, and lots of stories started to unfold in my mind as I saw this. Cheers, Klara

that’s a lovely vintage car there, this indeed is a timeless frame

Verstreute Kleider. Leere Flaschen und Gläser, volle Aschenbecher. Übernächtigt, froh, weit, melancholisch. Will plötzlich einfach weg, für mich sein. Suche meine Sachen zusammen.

hello sweetheart, is that your car? let’s go for a ride :) that’s not a euphemism :P there’s something sad about the picture, for sure, and i’m wondering why you feel it represents a sort of underbelly of your life… is there a car that never gets pulled out of the driveway? while you hide in your dark room and process yourself? :)

It’s like an open door to another world, perhaps hidden away, or maybe just waiting to be discovered, a little jewel in its box

Your BW are always incredibly strong, with so intense black. LOve the simple view with the Renault 4, a mythic car for a lot of French people. So nice!
    Have a nice day.
