our time for to love was a song

© Groß Behnitzer See, Groß Behnitz 2011 by Fritsch

Oh you know that there’s something calling me dear / And by morning, I’m sure to be gone / For I’m older than you and you know so well / That our time for to love was a song (Tom Waits)

  1. Ah yes, ‚Old shoes‘, man but I love this particular one, seriously one of my all time favourites. And how the shot amplifies, and works with old Tom’s haunting lyrics. Another story, so well told. So it goes brother, so we travel on…

    Lieber Florian

Is it dawn, is it „entre chien et loup“? The contrasts are heavy, as heavy as the legs when one stops to look at this wonderful landscape, as heavy as the thoughts invading the mind: where does this river go, where does it come from? A great metahphoric capture, telling of our lives, of our passage here on Earth.
Between two deep black margins, Florian, we have no other choice than to go on and live and leave a little bit more.

    really beautiful place, mood, BW

  8. Love the mood and dark tones. It’s so easy to lose oneself in a photograph such as this. Stellar!

It is with sunrises that things usually begin, but perhaps this is already the end of something passing, like a river where end and beginning flow indistinguishable

Oooh hahhahaaha our time for to love was [more than] a song – Very well pictured for a story-teller piece!

What a gorgeous BW again: I like the way you played with the light on the water and in the sky. NIcely done and thought.
    Have a nice day.

man wünschte sich, die stimmung des bildes wäre innen. man könnte beruhigt sterben.

  13. Paisible… Tu entends ton coeur battre devant ce cliché? Je ressens la même chose, je crois… Un paysage de toute beauté, Fritsch.
