wanted so badly somebody other than me staring back at me

I wanted so badly somebody other than me / Staring back at me but you were gone / I wanted to see you walking backwards / And get the sensation of you coming home / I wanted to see you walking away from me / Without the sensation of you leaving me alone (Counting Crows)

  1. All the little details I just love in this photo. The cobblestones and brick work. The texture of the hotel…and the hotel name. How cool. I am starting to think that maybe everything looks better with film. Your composition is so very cool! Lovin‘ this one!

Bagdad Café, we know, but Hotel Elephant, what the story behind this other great name? One story we can imagine. Or many stories, when we sit there waiting for the weariness to vanish.
Nice too to visit Weimar, Florian, with this fine black and white urbban view. The beginning of a new series, after the autobahn’s one?

  7. And so we always seem to be waiting, to be found, to be left alone, never content with time or place, always the next horizon.

Some old hotel, somewhere along the road, a place to wait and rest. Great shot brother, filled with so many stories of journeys taken, and yet to come. And as always I’m right there, journeying by your side.

So many together and close and quiet, but still all alone and probably wishing just for that „one“ to be there even though they aren’t–and won’t be. Life tends to draw us together to an extent, but we just won’t take that final few steps to make it happen. Maybe it’s because of the restriction of memories or simply some noticed incompatibility, but it’s sad all the same. Maybe we just prefer ourselves. You’ve done it again, Fritsch, and sent me on my little imaginative journey. Love the photo!!

I think the place I stayed at in Berlin was called Hotel Elefant, though they didn’t have a sign like this. I love your photograph Florian, people sitting on the terrasse, just enjoying time passing by

Noir at best if ya know what I meant (HA!)… so much characteristics found within a picture plus your „verses“ always placed-it-all-so-charmingly!
