songs about roving, rambling and plain hard luck & photography from the other side …

from the fire roads to the interstate

© Autobahn, Berlin 2011 by Fritsch

We take all the action we can meet / And we cover all the northeast state / When the strip shuts down we run ‚em in the street / From the fire roads to the interstate / Some guys they just give up living / And start dying little by little, piece by piece / Some guys come home from work and wash up / And go racin‘ in the street (Bruce Springsteen)

  2. And there we stand, like a beacon of light, our hope flickering, sometimes dying, but shine on it must. All alone we face this challenge of staying awake, in a fearful world. Looking for a light to guide our way. A beacon of light, a way to hope.

Deeply soulful shot, brother. Rich, and evocative in it’s stark symbolism. Beautiful in it’s sense of hope and longing. In a word, brilliant.

Licht.

Less is more, once more. Not that it’s always working. But here, no doubt, this lonely light, like the polar star, seems to indicate something. Probably not a direction, but a small signal to tell us there may be some life behind this energy consumption. A signal telling we may not be totally alone, my friend Florian.

such a simple frame, yet it tells so much, with those simple lines, that blue overtone and the tone of the sky, this is a winter night coming home.

  8. beautiful, Fritsch.

Racing In The Streets is one of my favorite songs, and your pic catches the emotion of the song perfectly.

    great work!

    hallo,

    lg, uwe
