the dreams you left behind

© Nordsee / North Sea 2010 by Fritsch

Someday you’ll find / The dreams you left behind / Are not as bright as they seem / Someday you’ll see / That love is meant for thee / Lasting as long as the sun / Someday you’ll find / Dreams can never die / Lasting as long as the sun / Shining down on you (Micah P. Hinson)

Folks, thanks for your companionship in the past year & I’m looking forward to see you down the road somewhere in 2011.

  1. Florian, you started the new year with a wonderful melancholic image.

Brilliant BW, very deep and contrasted, with a melancholic subject. I like it!!
    Have a nice day.

Many times I remember a Bod Dylan’s verses: „Forget the dead you’ve left behind / They will not follow you“. Maybe it’s easier to forget the dead than the dreams…
Your picture is one more piece of art, nostalgic and more than nostalgic, offering us so many of these dreams the song is telling about.

We are all waiting for the sun, this place also…..Yeah, this place also must look better in the sunlight. Excellent composition.
    Happy New Year!!!

Nice symmetry and I like the words you’ve put with it.

Florian, listening to the song by Micah Hinson while looking at your photograph is a real mood producer. The photo stands on it’s own with the title–the sunset falls on the beach once occupied with people who were looking for „something past the ordinary“ and then the day ends just like it does everywhere else. We all have the lost dreams, but here’s hoping that we can find some new dreams that become reality.
    Thanks for prompting the thoughts!

the dreams i left behind are like dead soldiers, sometimes i encounter one in my path, i shudder, step over them, and move on, i processed another pic for you for today, it seems you are the only thing keeping me going right now… love ya babe and love this picture! like a bunch of forgotten robots…

Just a perfect melancolic dance for this picture and this song. Lovely poetic way to Bégin this new year. The dream we left Behind can be seeds of futur hope, thank you for sharing such artistic vibes, Kris.

  14. I like the darkness and the shades of grey in this photo. I’m not sure what I am looking at, but I would imagine it would be a cemetery far in the future, where we are all just reduced to numbers in the end.
Happy new year to you Fritsch…all the best for 2011!

  15. Tes photos sont présentés comme des souvenirs…
Des détails simples mais toujours bien choisis.
Un fort contraste sur ce cliché que j’adore.
