Oh my. This is amazing. I initially thought that this was taken with film, with the borders / sprockets. :-) The snow is as white as it can be. Perfect framing & composition. I’m lost without words. Just beautiful.

The contrast, the structures, the Fernsehturm and the plumes of smoke from the chimneys- its got it all! Beauty.

Was für eine Einsamkeit mitten in der Stadt! Wo sind sie denn, all die Leute? Sitzen sie vor dem Fernseher und träumen von einem sonnenüberfluteten Sandstrand oder sind sie an der Arbeit, so dass die Schornsteine schloten … ein stilles Bild voller Leben im Hintergrund und gleichzeitig voller Tristess, doch diese Tristess wird vom Schnee geschluckt … denn ist es wirklich Schnee und nicht ein Sandstrand?

…there is snow too! Despite the open landscape, a rather claustrophobic shot. The heavy sky and the bar across the lower foreground contribute the feeling.

Ein bild dass die Stimmung zu dieser eisigen Zeit gut wiedergibt. Diese zugeschneite Einsamkeit, eine Stadt im Winterschlaf. Sehr schön. Bei euch in Berlin muss es ja noch viel kälter sein als hier. Zumindest war es immer so wenn ich mal im Winter nach Berlin gefahren bin :-). Dennoch, das Bild hat einen universellen Charakter, auch wenn der Turm beim Verorten hilft.

I love the detail and the contrasts of the snow on the track. There is a yearning felt here…a longing of wanting to go back home…
